  Garcia was outrighted to Triple-A Sugar Land after clearing waivers Friday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. Garcia was designated for assignment Wednesday and went unclaimed on waivers. He'll likely play out the rest of the season at Triple-A. While in Houston, Garcia hit .151/.216/.208 across 117 plate appearances on the campaign.

  Garcia was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Wednesday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land in early September, and he hit .136 with a homer, three runs, two RBI and six walks across seven games since then. The 28-year-old will now be cast off the 40-man roster but could remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports. Garcia was activated from the Astros' taxi squad Tuesday but failed to record an at-bat during his brief stint with the major-league club. The 28-year-old has slashed .206/.321/.471 with four home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs in 18 minor-league games this year and should see more consistent playing time at Triple-A Sugar Land.
