Pluko has been placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A St. Paul with a forearm strain, TwinsDaily.com reports. Plutko had a 4.35 ERA in 12 starts and 60 IP at St. Paul with a 7.3 K/9. While his stats were not overwhelming, the Twins can't afford to lose depth after several injuries in the majors.

The Twins signed Plutko to a minor-league contract Friday. Plutko, 32, is coming off a terrific two-year stint in the Korea Baseball Organization, having collected a 2.40 ERA and 250:69 K:BB over 285.1 innings with the LG Twins. He's posted a 5.39 ERA across 88 appearances in parts of five major-league seasons, which kept him from getting a big-league contract even after his successful stint overseas. Plutko will head to Triple-A St. Paul.

Plutko signed with the LG Twins of Korea Baseball Organization on Thursday, Sung Min Kim of The Athletic reports. Plutko served as a reliever for the Orioles in 2021, posting a 6.71 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 56.1 innings. After being designated for assignment in mid-August, it didn't appear that he would have significant opportunity in the major leagues moving forward. Instead, Plutko may have the chance to return to a starting role with the Twins, and he is set to make up to $800,000 on a one-year deal.

Plutko recently accepted an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk after clearing waivers, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports. Plutko was DFA'd after allowing 17 runs on seven homers across his last 8.1 innings with Baltimore. He'll stay with the organization after failing to garner interest on the waiver wire but will likely face an uphill battle to return to the major-league roster by the end of the season.
