  O'Grady cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A El Paso on Friday. O'Grady filled a minor role as a depth outfielder this season but didn't acquit himself well, hitting .157/.267/.333 in 61 plate appearances. Heading into his age-30 season, it's no surprise to see him fail to get claimed off waivers given that he's yet to find success at the major-league level.

  The Padres optioned O'Grady to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, Bob Scanlan of Bally Sports San Diego reports. O'Grady's latest stint with the big club lasted just over a week, with the 29-year-old appearing in four games and going 0-for-6 at the dish. San Diego brought back superstar Fernando Tatis (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

  O'Grady was recalled from Triple-A El Paso on Friday. O'Grady will serve as outfield depth for the major-league club after Jurickson Profar (undisclosed) was placed on the injured list. The 29-year-old O'Grady has appeared in 28 games for the Padres this year, and he's hit .178 with two homers, eight runs and eight RBI.

  O'Grady hit a solo home run in his only plate appearance during Sunday's loss to the Marlins. With San Diego trailing 9-2 and down to its final out, O'Grady provided a brief delay of the inevitable with a solo shot to right field. The long ball was his second of the campaign. O'Grady has slashed an impressive .314/.387/.628 in the minors this season but has been mostly unproductive with the big club, batting .178 with a 27.3 percent strikeout rate.
