Diaz cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Diaz was optioned to Toledo in mid-August, and he'll now lose his spot on the Tigers' 40-man roster. Over 32 Triple-A games this year, Dias has hit .235 with nine homers, 28 runs, 25 RBI and three stolen bases.

Detroit optioned Diaz to Triple-A Toledo on Friday. Diaz went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts during his five-day stay on the Tigers' major-league roster. Javier Baez has been activated from the bereavement list in a corresponding move.

The Tigers recalled Diaz from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. With Javier Baez (bereavement) away from the team, Diaz will come up from the minors to fill Baez's roster spot. The 27-year-old infielder is just 1-for-19 across six games in the majors this season, and he is unlikely to draw many starts for Detroit while Baez is out.

The Tigers claimed Diaz off waivers from the Giants on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Toledo. Diaz appeared in just six big-league games with the Giants this season, but he should have a clearer path to resurfacing in the majors with a Detroit squad that has struggled to generate production from most of its starting infielders throughout the season. He'll look to get off to a good start with Toledo before potentially getting the call to Detroit at some point in the next two months. In a corresponding move, the Tigers designated left-hander Zach Logue for assignment.
