  • Dominguez appears set to take over in center field for the Yankees in 2025, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Dominguez has a "clear lane" to take over in center field for New York, with Aaron Judge expected to move back to right field in 2025, according to general manager Brian Cashman. Cashman said of Dominguez that the team "obviously believe he has a very high ceiling, and he's healthy." The 21-year-old appeared in 18 games with the Yankees in the 2024 regular season, producing a .179 average with two home runs, four RBI, eight runs scored and five stolen bases over 56 at-bats. Dominguez did compile a much more impressive .309 average with seven long-balls, 25 RBI, 33 runs scored and 15 stolen bases over 44 contests with Triple-A Wilkes-Barre last season.

  • Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that he expects Dominguez to be a "big part" of the team in 2025, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. Much to the chagrin of many Yankees fans, Boone largely stuck with Alex Verdugo as his primary left fielder over Dominguez during the regular season and postseason. However, Verdugo is now a free agent and seems unlikely to return, clearing a spot in the everyday lineup for Dominguez. What position the 21-year-old plays could depend on whether the Yankees' re-sign Juan Soto, but Dominguez is likely to be an everyday player either way. He has a .747 OPS with six homers and six steals over 100 career plate appearances in the majors and boasts ample fantasy upside.

  • Dominguez is not in the lineup Thursday for Game 3 of the ALCS versus the Guardians. The Yankees are facing a lefty (Matthew Boyd) for the second time this postseason, and it's the first time they're going up against a southpaw that doesn't have reverse splits (they faced Cole Ragans the first time). Nevertheless, the switch-hitting Dominguez will again yield left field to the left-handed-hitting Alex Verdugo, who has started all seven contests during these playoffs. Dominguez has yet to see any action this postseason.

  • Dominguez is absent from the lineup Wednesday for Game 3 of the ALDS versus the Royals. Dominguez started in left field in each of the last five games of the regular season, but he has yet to see any action in the ALDS. The Yankees are again going with Alex Verdugo in left field for Game 3.

  • Dominguez went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 10-1 win over the Orioles. Dominguez's steal was his fifth in as many attempts this season. The outfield prospect is still struggling to hit consistently -- he has just one multi-hit effort in 15 major-league contests, and he's batting .191 with two homers, four RBI and seven runs scored over 54 plate appearances. Dominguez is set to continue sharing left field with the more defensively steady Alex Verdugo.
