Marlins' Deyvison De Los Santos: Given 40-man roster spot
The Miami Marlins selected Deyvison De Los Santos' contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.De Los Santos finished the 2024 season with 40 home runs and 120 RBI between the Double-A and Triple-A levels. He got his strikeout rate down to 24.7 percent overall on the season, but it came in at 28.4 percent with Jacksonville after he landed there via trade. While there are swing-and-miss concerns, De Los Santos won't turn 22 until June and has immense raw power. He could get a shot with the Marlins at some point in 2025.

Marlins' Deyvison De Los Santos: Sent to Miami
Deyvison De Los Santos was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Miami Marlins along with Andrew Pintar in exchange for A.J. Puk on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.De Los Santos has always had plenty of raw power, and he's translated that to game action this season by posting a .324 ISO with Double-A Amarillo before being promoted to Triple-A Reno. He has 28 total home runs across 87 games between the two levels and could provide some needed thump to the middle of the Marlins order in the near future. For the time being, De Los Santos will likely report to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Diamondbacks' Deyvison De Los Santos: Strong start at Amarillo
Deyvison De Los Santos was named the Texas League Player of the Month for April after leading the circuit with 32 hits, seven home runs and 58 total bases for Double-Amarillo, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.De Los Santos spent the spring with the Guardians, who selected him in the Rule 5 draft, but he did not make Cleveland's roster. The 20-year-old native of the Dominican Republic picked up at Amarillo where he left off in 2023. De Los Santos was added to the development list in 2023 following a rough start, but he crushed Double-A pitching in the second half of the season, posting a .322/.340/.596 slash line after July 14. The power-hitting prospect made strides at the plate while with the Guardians, developing a more "major league approach," according to Amarillo manager Tim Bogar, who feels the experience in a major-league spring training camp was helpful. To become a well-rounded prospect, De Los Santos needs to work on his defense. He's played both third and first base since being signed as a 16-year-old, but the organization plans to limit him to first base only going forward.

Diamondbacks' Deyvison De Los Santos: Returned to D-backs
Deyvison De Los Santos cleared waivers Saturday and was returned to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.De Los Santos was selected by the Guardians during the Rule 5 Draft in December, but he wasn't able to make the team's 26-man Opening Day roster. He'll now return to the Diamondbacks organization, losing his 40-man roster spot in the process. The 20-year-old infielder spent all of last season at Double-A Amarillo, slashing .254/.297/.431 across 481 plate appearances, but he could receive a bump to Triple-A Reno to begin 2024. The Guardians also experimented with giving De Los Santos reps in the corner outfield positions, but it's unclear whether that experiment will continue as he returns to Arizona.

Guardians' Deyvison De Los Santos: Misses Opening Day roster
Deyvison De Los Santos is not listed on the Cleveland Guardians' Opening Day roster, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports. The Guardians attempted to add left and right field to De Los Santos' defensive skill set this spring in an effort to make him easier to carry on the 26-man roster, but he will fail to make the cut after posting a .545 OPS across 44 spring plate appearances. The Guardians acquired De Los Santos via the Rule 5 Draft this offseason, so the 20-year-old prospect will now be offered back to the Diamondbacks and likely head to Double-A or Triple-A to begin the year.

Guardians' Deyvison De Los Santos: Taking reps in corner outfield
Deyvison De Los Santos has been working out in both corner outfield spots this spring, Jason Lloyd of The Athletic reports.A Rule 5 pick, De Los Santos has never played anywhere other than third and first base in pro ball, but the Cleveland Guardians are testing out his versatility with the idea that it would make it easier to carry him on the roster. Cleveland does have clear openings both in right field and at designated hitter, but should he stick on the 26-man roster it's unlikely the 20-year-old De Los Santos will play much in the majors as he attempts to skip over the Triple-A level.

Guardians' Deyvison De Los Santos: Heading to Cleveland
The Cleveland Guardians selected Deyvison De Los Santos during the 2023 Rule 5 Draft on Wednesday. The 20-year-old was at Double-A Amarillo with the Diamondbacks last season and had a .254/.297/.431 slash line with 20 homers in 113 games. Diamondbacks' Deyvison De Los Santos: Bumped to Double-A at 19
Deyvison De Los Santos was promoted to Double-A Amarillo on Tuesday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports. It's pretty remarkable that De Los Santos opened the year at Single-A as an 18-year-old and is now poised to finish the year at Double-A as a 19-year-old. The slugging phenom's plate skills have been a little suspect, particularly at High-A (4.2 BB%, 32.5 K%), but he still managed to be incredibly productive relative to age and level, slashing .278/.307/.506 with nine home runs and a .228 ISO in 38 games. He will likely open 2023 back at Double-A, as he doesn't turn 20 until June 21.

Diamondbacks' Deyvison De Los Santos: Hot start in High-A
Deyvison De Los Santos has hit .329/.345/.565 with five homers and a steal in 20 games since being promoted to High-A Hillsboro. Those are impressive numbers, but they come with two major asterisks: a .418 BABIP and a 2:25 BB:K. However, he's also a 19-year-old in a league where he's 3.5 years younger than the average player, so the fact that he's been able to put up gaudy numbers early on in High-A despite facing more advanced pitching has to weigh in his favor. He won't be rushed to the big leagues and he may not stick at third base, where he's been an absolute butcher this season (15 errors), but there are precious few minor leaguers who can match his power.

Diamondbacks' Deyvison De Los Santos: Has himself a week
Deyvison De Los Santos recorded three hits in five separate games for Single-A Visalia last week, earning a spot on the Pipeline Prospect Team of the Week, Tylor Maun of MLB.com reports.De Los Santos went 15-for-26 with two home runs, one triple, six RBI and six runs scored over six games against Inland Empire. Overall, the corner infielder is slashing .315/.355/.508 with 11 homers and 56 RBI over 61 games for the Rawhide. Standing at 6-foot-1 and 185-pounds, the 19-year-old has the body for power. The Arizona Diamondbacks hope his body lets him stick at third base, but there remains a chance he outgrows the position and has to move across the diamond to first base.
