Reds' Connor Overton: Makes return from minor-league IL
Connor Overton (elbow) has given up five earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three over 6.1 innings in two relief appearances for Triple-A Louisville since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list Tuesday.Overton made three starts at the big-league level for the Cincinnati Reds last season before undergoing Tommy John surgery last May. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 14 -- less than a year after his procedure -- before being pulled off the assignment a week later. Overton returned to action in the ACL over the All-Star break, and after eventually moving up to High-A Dayton for a rehab outing July 27, he was cleared to make his 2024 Louisville debut. The right-hander could eventually be an option for Louisville's rotation once he gets more stretched out.

Connor Overton (elbow) began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on May 14 and has allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out three across three innings over three rehab appearances.Overton is building his way back up from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, which he underwent May 23, 2023. The 30-year-old was outrighted off the 40-man roster in October but rejoined the Cincinnati Reds on a minor-league deal shortly thereafter and will eventually settle in as a member of Triple-A Louisville's pitching staff once he completes his rehab assignment and is activated from the 7-day injured list.
