Athletics' Parker Dunshee: Finishes '21 season healthy
Parker Dunshee reported to minor-league spring training healthy after missing a large portion of the 2021 season due to a rib injury, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.Reports surfaced this past summer that Dunshee would require thoracic outlet syndrome, but Lockard relays that it was different injury had been keeping the right-hander off the field. After nearly three months with the rib issue, Dunshee returned to action for Triple-A Las Vegas in September, making five appearances while giving up 18 runs (14 earned) and striking out 12 over 17 innings. The 27-year-old doesn't possess a spot on the 40-man roster, but he could get a token chance to compete for the Oakland Athletics' No. 5 spot in the Opening Day rotation once big-league spring training opens.

Athletics' Parker Dunshee: Makes it into player pool
Parker Dunshee is part of the 60-man player pool that will report to the Oakland Athletics' summer camp, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.Dunshee mostly cruised through his first two-plus seasons in the minors before hitting Triple-A Las Vegas in the latter portion of 2019, a stint in which he scuffled to a 5.38 ERA across 20 appearances (19 starts). While the league's hitter-friendly conditions undoubtedly played a part in his struggles, Dunshee also took his lumps across three Cactus League appearances (12.27 ERA) before spring training was suspended. The right-hander seems much more likely to be part of a pool of up to 30 players that will train at an alternate location once the regular season begins than to make the Opening Day roster.
