Angels' Oscar Colas: Lands with Halos
Oscar Colas agreed Sunday with the Los Angeles Angels on a minor-league contract, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.Once Colas passes a physical, he's expected to report to the Angels' Double-A affiliate in Rocket City. After signing with the White Sox in January 2022 as an international free agent out of Cuba, Colas quickly emerged as one of the organization's top prospects. He never delivered on his potential, however, amassing a .223/.271/.309 slash line across 301 plate appearances over 88 games in Chicago between the 2023 and 2024 seasons before he was removed from the 40-man roster in late March. The 26-year-old outfielder had continued to languish in the minors before the White Sox released him Saturday, as he turned in a .500 OPS in 29 games between Triple-A Charlotte and Double-A Birmingham this season.

Oscar Colas: Let go by South Siders
The White Sox released Oscar Colas on Saturday, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.Colas was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte in late March after being desingated for assignment by the White Sox at the conclusion of spring training. The 26-year-old has struggled in Triple-A this season, slashing .116/.224/.209 with two steals, six RBI and a 34.7 percent strikeout rate over 49 plate appearances. White Sox's Oscar Colas: Could get look at first base
The Chicago White Sox may test out Oscar Colas at first base during spring training, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports. As Romero noted, a move from the outfield to first base could improve Colas' odds of making Chicago's Opening Day roster. Colas saw just 13 games of big-league action last season. He slashed .273/.368/.273 with just four RBI and zero extra-base hits across 38 plate appearances. The White Sox have a plethora of capable outfielders, including Andrew Benintendi, Luis Robert, Mike Tauchman, Austin Slater, Miguel Vargas and Dominic Fletcher. Colas would give Chicago a left-handed bat to pair with Andrew Vaughn at first base.

The outfielder has gone 9-for-30 at the plate during his limited chances with the White Sox this season, although all nine hits have been singles. Chicago will be sellers at the trade deadline, and playing time for Colas could open up at that point.
