Marlins' Graham Pauley: Seeing semi-frequent playing time
Graham Pauley will start at third base and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Rangers.Though he doesn't have a direct path to an everyday role at any one position, Pauley has now picked up starts in four of the Miami Marlins' six games since being reinstated from the injured list Monday. He's seen action at three different spots in the infield, making two starts at third base and one apiece at second base and first base.

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Back at full strength
The Miami Marlins reinstated Graham Pauley (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday.Pauley had been on the shelf since Aug. 18 due to a right oblique strain, but he's been deemed ready to rejoin the big club after he went 3-for-10 with a home run and a double over a three-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville. He's made 48 starts at third base so far this season, but with the Marlins also bringing back Connor Norby (quadriceps) from the IL on Monday, Pauley may have to settle for limited at-bats over the final two weeks of the campaign.

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Kicking off rehab assignment
Graham Pauley (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.Pauley has been on the shelf for more than three weeks with a right oblique strain but has been cleared to return to game action. He will play third base for Jacksonville on Wednesday and shouldn't need too many rehab contests before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Pauley will beat Connor Norby (quadriceps) back from the IL, so the former should be the Miami Marlins' primary third baseman when he returns, at least until the latter is ready.

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Likely out until mid-September
Graham Pauley is expected to miss about four weeks after straining his right oblique over the weekend, MLB.com reports. That timeline would have the third baseman out until mid-September, and it's possible the Miami Marlins end up shutting him down completely if his recovery has any hiccups. Pauley has slashed .273/.385/.527 over 25 games since the All-Star break with four home runs and an impressive 10:11 BB:K, but his prolonged absence could give Connor Norby (wrist) a chance to reclaim the starting job at the hot corner heading into 2026. While both players remain on the shelf for the time being, Javier Sanoja will likely see the bulk of the playing time at third base.

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Shelved with oblique strain
The Miami Marlins placed Graham Pauley on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right oblique strain.Miami hasn't shed light on the severity of the injury that Pauley sustained over the weekend, but given that even mild oblique strains typically entail more than a 10-day recovery, the 24-year-old is unlikely to return from the IL when first eligible Aug. 27. Miami recalled infielder Maximo Acosta from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move, but Javier Sanoja and Eric Wagaman may be likelier candidates to pick up starts at third base while Pauley is on the shelf.

Marlins' Graham Pauley: Dealing with side issue
Graham Pauley wasn't available for Sunday's 5-3 win over the Red Sox due to right side tightness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.Even if he was fully healthy, the left-handed-hitting Pauley likely would have sat out Sunday anyway while lefty Garrett Crochet took the hill for the Red Sox, but the injury now threatens the third baseman's availability for the Miami Marlins' upcoming series with the Cardinals that begins Monday. If Pauley's side issue is deemed serious enough to send him to the injured list, Infielder Maximo Acosta could be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.
