The Hawks waived Fernando on Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

After spending just one full season with the club, Fernando will now look to sign with a new team after being waived by the Hawks. The 25-year-old was a non-factor in the first half of the 2023-24 regular season, during which he averaged 4.0 points and 3.1 rebounds across 9.0 minutes in 18 games. However, after the All-Star break, Fernando saw an uptick in playing time, and he averaged 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 19.3 minutes in 27 appearances.
