Bucks coach Jason Kidd said forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to play Friday night against the Knicks, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Antetokounmpo was held out of Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers for undisclosed reasons. Kidd said Antetokounmpo was not being punished.
"Giannis is a piece of the puzzle for us," Kidd said. "Understanding if you want to rest guys, you have that luxury. You don't have to disclose it."
Antetokounmpo said he's hopeful Kidd benched him in order to light a fire under him for the postseason.
"Hopefully, yeah, he's trying to motivate me," Antetokounmpo said. "Whatever he's trying to do, he's doing the right thing."
In 77 games, Antetokounmpo is averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds.
