Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said that Leonard (knee), who has already been ruled out for Monday's matchup versus Utah, is progressing well, and the team will re-evaluate his status Tuesday, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
Leonard has yet to make his season debut while he continues to recover from inflammation in his right knee, an injury that resulted in him withdrawing from playing for the United States national team in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The star forward has made some noteworthy progress in his recovery of late, however, as he recently resumed practicing on a limited basis. After re-evaluating Leonard on Tuesday, the Clippers will decide whether he travels during the club's upcoming three-game road trip that begins Thursday in Dallas. If Leonard is cleared to play at some point during the road trip, he would likely slot back into the starting five but would presumably have his minutes managed carefully.
