Week 20 began with a five-game slate on Monday. Markelle Fultz turned heads in his 2021-22 debut and other waiver-wire targets could see their rostership numbers rise ahead of the weekend as they look to return from injuries in March. So who's trending upward ahead of Tuesday's slate? We've picked out a few options who are readily available.
Here are four Week 20 waiver-wire targets with rostership at 50 percent or less in CBS leagues:
Isaiah Jackson, F/C, MEM (50% rostered)
Jackson has established himself as Indiana's starting center. While the springy big man is splitting large chunks of time with Goga Bitadze and Terry Taylor, he's averaged 11.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per game since the All-Star break. Foul trouble lowered Jackson's ceiling in his last game, but he makes impactful plays when he plays more than 20 minutes. He's averaging 17.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game when he logs at least 20 minutes.
Michael Porter Jr., F, DEN (43% rostered)
MPJ was supposedly shut down for the year earlier this season, but the Nuggets are ramping up his training for a March return. The lanky swingman put up just 9.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest in the nine games he's appeared in this year. However, he was a top 10 Fantasy power forward in points leagues last season. He's had three months to rehab his back and could be a game-changer if he returns to his old form. There's no harm in stashing a player with MPJ's upside for later.
Lonnie Walker, G, SAS (24% rostered)
Fantasy managers have focused on Devin Vassell as the biggest winner from the Derrick White trade, but Walker has made out nicely as well. The Spurs wing has scored at least 22 points in three straight games. While he was a dud and scored two points in his first game after the trade deadline, he tallied 20.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest over his following six outings.
Brandon Goodwin, G, CLE (10% rostered)
Goodwin is my favorite short-term streaming option. Darius Garland, Caris LeVert, and Rajon Rondo are dealing with injuries, so the Cavs' reserve guard has taken on a heavy workload. Goodwin has averaged 13.3 points, 7.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds over his past three games. He'll have little value once Cleveland gets its key ball handlers back, but Goodwin is serviceable for now. He notched 17 points with 12 assists against the Timberwolves on Monday.
