Konchar is starting Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
With the Grizzlies already dealing with a handful of injuries to key players, Konchar will step into the starting five. He should be prepared to log plenty of minutes and is competing for a sizable reserve role during the regular season.
