Okongwu (toe) recorded 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 19 minutes during Monday's 136-105 loss to the Lakers.
Okongwu had missed 13 straight contests due to a left big toe sprain before suiting up against the Lakers on Monday. The fourth-year player had started in each of his previous five appearances before spraining his toe, but with Clint Capela beating him back from injury following the All-Star break, Okongwu unsurprisingly settled into a backup role in his return. Okongwu still put up decent production during his limited time on the court, including a 5-for-5 showing from two-point range. Once he becomes further removed from the injury, Okongwu could move into more of a timeshare with Capela. Even in a 25-minute role, Okongwu would still have some appeal as a lower-end option in 12-team category leagues.
