The Hornets waived Simmons on Wednesday.
Simmons appeared in the final five games for Charlotte last year, marking his first NBA appearance since 2018-19. However, after drafting Nick Smith (undisclosed) and Brandon Miller, there wasn't any room for Simmons. The Arizona product will likely have to settle for a G League deal or may head overseas again.
