Davis (rest) will be held out of the Lakers' exhibition opener versus the Timberwolves on Friday, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The Lakers will also be without LeBron James (rest), as they will likely be cautious with both his and Davis' minutes during the preseason. In the latter's absence, Jarred Vanderbilt (foot) and Jaxson Hayes are candidates to see bigger roles in the frontcourt.
