Exum suffered a broken bone in his left hand in the second quarter of Friday's game against the Rockets and is considered out indefinitely, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The loss of Exum is yet another blow to the snakebitten Mavericks, who entered Friday's contest down eight players due to injury. More tests are needed to determine whether Exum will require surgery to address the injury or if the bone will be able to heal on its own, but the 29-year-old appears unlikely to make it back on the court before the end of the regular season. Spencer Dinwiddie started for Exum in the second half, and the former will likely be moved into the Mavericks' starting lineup beginning with Sunday's game against the 76ers.
