Edwards (ankle) won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Bucks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.

The Mavericks will be resting several players for their preseason finale, and Edwards' roster status is very much in the air as a result of the ongoing injury. If he survives the final round of roster cuts, which is already a long shot, Edwards would be destined for a minimal role off the Dallas bench.
