Beasley (suspension) is closing in on a contract with the Nets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Brooklyn has seven players out for the remainder of the season and already added one veteran in the form of Jamal Crawford. Beasley hasn't seen NBA action this season but made 26 appearances with the Lakers during the 2018-19 campaign, averaging 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10.9 minutes. The 31-year-old still has an outstanding five-game suspension from August 2019 for violating the league's anti-drug policy that presumably needs to be served before he's cleared for game action.
