Brooks finished with 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt), four rebounds and an assist across 24 minutes in Tuesday's 118-98 preseason win over the Pelicans.

Brooks was one of three starters who scored in double digits for the Rockets in this comfortable win. The veteran forward seems ready for the start of the regular season against the Hornets on Oct. 23. However, the team still has one preseason game left against the Spurs on Thursday. Whether he plays against San Antonio or not, Brooks is penciled in to open the 2024-25 campaign as the Rockets' starting small forward.
