Detroit and Milton agreed to a contract buyout Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
The two sides were able to complete the transaction prior to the deadline Friday, so Milton will be eligible to compete in the playoffs if he signs with a new team. He's expected to draw interest from several contenders, and it became apparent quickly that he was never a major part of Detroit's plans after being acquired from Minnesota at the trade deadline. In 42 appearances this season between the Pistons and Timberwolves, Milton has averaged 4.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.2 minutes per contest.
