Richards (rest) won't play in Tuesday's preseason game against the Lakers, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Richards will sit out the team's preseason finale due to rest purposes. The 27-year-old center's next opportunity to play will come in Phoenix's regular-season opener against the Kings on Oct. 22.
