Shannon faces additional competition for playing time following Minnesota's agreement with Jonathan Kuminga.
Shannon currently sits second behind Anthony Edwards at shooting guard while providing depth at both forward spots, but Kuminga's expected place in the starting five further crowds Minnesota's wing rotation. Shannon should still have an opportunity to earn a reserve role, though he'll be competing with Ayo Dosunmu, Jaylen Clark and others for minutes behind the starters.
