Our weekly Fantasy Basketball Planner is the essential guide to setting your lineup for the upcoming scoring period. Every week, we provide you with news and notes for each team, tracking hot and cold players, injuries and rotation changes.
Atlanta Hawks
Schedule: @ORL, NJ, @SA, IND
Good
Plays: Josh Smith, Al Horford
Bad Plays: Maurice Evans, Zaza Pachulia
Toss
Ups: Jamal Crawford, Marvin Williams, Mike Bibby
Injury
Report: Joe Johnson (elbow/January)
Notes:
With Johnson out for 4-6 weeks, Evans moved into the starting lineup
this week. However, Evans will serve as merely a place-holder in the
starting lineup for Crawford, whom we expect to see the biggest boost.
He becomes worthy of activating as a No. 3/4 guard in most standard
formats. ... Williams should also see an increase in touches. Expect him
to see double-figure shot attempts on a regular basis, making him a
sleeper to benefit here. ... The Hawks have four low-scoring matchups
ahead of them in Week 7. Their opponents allow an average of 96.3 points
per game. That makes Williams and Bibby less desirable as low-end plays
barring a huge weekend.
Boston Celtics
Schedule: DEN, @PHI, @CHA
Good
Plays: Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett
Bad
Plays: Nate Robinson, Marquis Daniels, Jermaine O'Neal
Toss
Ups: Shaquille O'Neal, Glen Davis
Injury Report: Nate Robinson (foot/day-to-day), Jermaine O'Neal
(knee/out indefinitely), Delonte West
(wrist/February) Kendrick Perkins
(knee/February)
Notes: The Celtics are quietly getting solid
production out of Shaq and Davis in the front court. ... Shaq entered
the weekend averaging 14.8 points and 8.4 over his last five games. ...
Davis entered the weekend riding a three-game hot streak during which he
averaged 17.0 points and 7.3 rebounds. ... Both are are worthy of
activating as potential stopgaps off the waiver wire with no signs of a
return for Jermaine O'Neal.
Charlotte Bobcats
Schedule: DEN, @IND, BOS
Good
Plays: Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson
Bad Plays: Nazr Mohammed,
Shaun Livingston
Toss Ups: D.J. Augustin, Boris Diaw, Tyrus Thomas
Injury Report: No significant injuries.
Notes:
Augustin is struggling from beyond the arc (4 of 19 over last five
games), but is averaging a 16-7-4 stat line in that span. That is just
about must-start quality in most formats. ... Diaw is getting playing
time in the high 30s per game, leading to low-double digit scoring on a
consistent basis with around five boards, three dimes and a steal per
game. He is also providing good 3-point shooting and is a solid
category-league option. ... Thomas scored 26 points with 11 points
against the Knicks on Nov. 24, but was held below 10 points in each of
his next three games. He remains far too spotty to trust in Fantasy
despite his upside.
Chicago Bulls
Schedule: OKC, CLE, LAL, MIN
Good
Plays: Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Luol Deng
Bad
Plays: Taj Gibson, Kyle Korver, Keith Bogans, Ronnie Brewer
Toss Ups: Carlos Boozer
Injury
Report: No significant injuries.
Notes: Boozer is finally
back, but he is likely to require a few games before he gets back into
playing shape having missed the entire preseason and regular season to
this point. He should be considered a low-end play for Week 7, but has
high-end appeal in the long-term. ... Boozer's return does mean that
Gibson's minutes and touches will likely decline by the game. He is also
dealing with plantar fasciitis. Avoid him. ... Joakim Noah was held without a rebound on Wednesday night. While there
is some concern that Boozer will begin to cut into Noah's value, Boozer
had nothing to do with that on Wednesday as he had just five points and
two boards in his return.

Cleveland Cavaliers
Schedule: @PHI, CHI, @HOU, @OKC
Good
Plays: Mo Williams
Bad Plays: Joey Graham, Jamario Moon, Ryan Hollins
Toss Ups: Antawn Jamison,
J.J. Hickson, Anderson Varejao, Daniel Gibson, Ramon Sessions, Anthony Parker,
Injury
Report: No significant injuries.
Notes: The four opponents
the Cavs will face in Week 7 allow an average of 101.9 points per game.
Expect a high-volume week. ... Graham has been unproductive in his five
games since being named a starter, averaging just 8.4 points and 3.0
rebounds. Even with high-scoring games ahead, we recommend avoiding him
in anything but the deepest of leagues. ... Jamison has hit the skids
this past week, being held to eight or fewer points in three of his last
four games. The minutes are there, however, and we still view him as a
decent low-end play given the matchups. ... Hickson is averaging just
7.0 points and 6.4 rebounds over his past five games, but could be in
for a slight boost. Consider him in a pinch. ... Varejao is one of our
favorite sleepers at center for Week 7, coming off a 16-and-12 effort
against Boston. He is avearging 8.8 rebounds per game over his last five
contests. He could average double-digit scoring to go along with the
boards, blocks, steals this week.
Dallas Mavericks
Schedule: GS, NJ, UTA
Good
Plays: Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry
Bad
Plays: Brendan Haywood, Jose Juan Barea
Toss Ups: Tyson Chandler, Caron Butler, Shawn Marion
Injury Report: Roddy Beaubois (foot/mid-December)
Notes: Chandler is
averaging 12.8 points and 13.8 rebounds over his last five games. He
should start in any format. ... Haywood looked viable Wednesday with 10
boards and seven points in 21 minutes off the bench, but most of his
production came in garbage time. ... Caron Butler
is averaging a 15-1-3 stat line over his last five games. He remains
just a low-end play for now. ... Marion is out-producing Butler,
averaging a 15-1-7 stat line with a steal per game over the same span.
Denver Nuggets
Schedule: @CHA, @BOS, @TOR, @NY
Good
Plays: Carmelo Anthony, Nene
Bad
Plays: Ty Lawson, Chris Andersen, Shelden Williams, Gary Forbes
Toss Ups: Chauncey Billups,
J.R. Smith, Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington
Injury
Report: Kenyon Martin (knee/January)
Notes:
Billups is back from his wrist injury and looked as productive as he
has all season. He has looked plenty healthy in his first two games back
and should be activated again in all formats. ... The return of Billups
pushes Lawson back to an inconsistent backup role. ... Smith is coming
off a pair of strong games, but beware of falling into a trap. He
notched a 30-2-8 stat line against the Suns on Sunday with Carmelo Anthony missing nearly the entire game because he was sick.
Then, he managed a 20-1-10 stat line his next time out. This time, 'Melo
was ejected in the third quarter. Smith has upside, but George Karl has
preferred Afflalo's consistency. At the first sign of cooling off, Smith
could have the rug pulled from under him. ... Afflalo is averaging a
12-3-5 stat line over his last five games. He offers that level of
production with solid 3-point shooting. ... Harrington has been held
under 10 points in three of his last five games.
Detroit Pistons
Schedule: @HOU, @NO, @MIN, TOR
Good
Plays: Rodney Stuckey
Bad
Plays: Greg Monroe, Austin Daye, Jason Maxiell, Will Bynum, Tracy McGrady
Toss
Ups: Tayshaun Prince, Charlie Villanueva, Richard Hamilton, Ben Gordon, Ben Wallace
Injury
Report: Jonas Jerebko
(Achilles'/February)
Notes: The Pistons play a favorable
four-game slate with three games against teams that allow well over 100
points per game. The average points allowed per game of their Week 7
opponents is 102.3. ... Coach John Kuester insists on playing the
matchups at power forward, creating a very shaky situation for Daye,
Maxiell and Monroe. The only player who remains mostly unaffected is
Villanueva. Despite favorable matchups, we recommend avoiding the likes
of Moroe, Daye and Maxiell due to the inconsistency. ... Prince may be
looking at more than his usual 11-12 shots per game in what figures to
be a high-volume week for the Pistons. He is averaging 15-3-5 over his
last five games, but could see an improvement this week. ... Hamilton is
averaging 13-4-3 over his last five games. He could hit the mid-teens
with a light increase across the line given the matchups. ... Gordon has
been held below 10 points in two of his last three games. He may also
see a 15-point game here or there over the course of the scoring period,
but remains too inconsistent to trust. ... Wallace should provide more
of the same. Rebounds and blocks are his specialty. Scoring is not, even
with high-scoring games ahead, don't expect a boost there.
Golden State Warriors
Schedule: @DAL, @SA, MIA
Good
Plays: Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry, David Lee
Bad
Plays: Reggie Williams, Jeff Adrien
Toss Ups: Dorell Wright,
Andris Biedrins
Injury Report: No
significant injuries.
Notes: The Warriors have perhaps the
toughest Week 7 schedule in the league. They will play three teams that
allow an average of 94.6 points per game. ... Wright is averaging a
16-4-5 stat line over his last five games to go with plus 3-point
shooting. He is a decent start in most formats despite the matchups, but
be aware of a potential dip. ... Biedrins is avearging 14.0 rebounds
over his last five games, but has scored more than eight points just
once in that span. It was a 28-point effort go with 21 rebounds on Nov.
26 in Memphis, but that was before Lee returned. Expect rebounds, but
not much scoring in Week 7.
Houston Rockets
Schedule: DET, @MIL, CLE
Good
Plays: Luis Scola, Kevin Martin
Bad Plays: Aaron Brooks,
Yao Ming, Chuck Hayes, Courtney Lee, Chase Budinger, Jordan Hill
Toss
Ups: Kyle Lowry, Shane Battier, Brad Miller
Injury
Report: Yao Ming (ankle/could return
Dec. 7), Aaron Brooks (ankle/could
return Dec. 10)
Notes: Yao is practicing lightly and is
targeting Tuesday for a possible return, which means he could be
available for all three games for Houston. However, a limited Yao is
likely and with the Rockets playing a back-to-back set over the weekend
there is a strong possibility he could be reserved for one of those two
games. Keep him reserved where possible. ... Miller stands to see around
20-25 minutes per game regardless of whether or not Yao plays, but his
stock takes a hit once Yao is back to what passes as full strength. He
should be treated as only an emergency fill-in option off the waiver
wire at center. ... Brooks could return by the weekend, but the
back-to-back set makes it likely he is looking at just one game -- at
best -- in Week 7. ... Lowry is averaging a 10-8-4 stat line over his
last five games. Daring owners who are not overly concerned about
Brooks' possible return could squeeze one more good scoring period out
of him. ... Shane Battier has two games
with 17 or more points in his last four games. He has just five points
combined in the other two games. If his 3-point shot is not falling, he
offers very little.
Indiana Pacers
Schedule: TOR, @MIL, CHA, @ATL
Good
Plays: Danny Granger, Roy Hibbert
Bad Plays: Josh McRoberts, Tyler Hansbrough, T.J. Ford, James Posey, Paul George
Toss Ups: Darren Collison, Mike Dunleavy, Brandon Rush
Injury Report: No significant injuries.
Notes:
Collison seems to be settling into a comfort zone. While it is not
quite at the level that he managed last season in a breakout year for
the Hornets, the 15-5-4 stat line he has going over his last five games
makes him a quality play in most formats. ... Coach Jim O'Brien is
mixing and matching with Dunleavy and Rush based upon matchups. That is
leading to inconsistent production from both players. Avoid this
situation until somebody can emerge.

L.A. Clippers
Schedule: SAC, LAL, MEM, ORL
Good
Plays: Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon
Bad Plays: Al-Farouq Aminu, DeAndre Jordan, Craig Smith, Ryan Gomes, Rasual Butler, Randy Foye
Toss
Ups: Baron Davis, Eric Bledsoe, Chris Kaman
Injury
Report: Chris Kaman
(ankle/day-to-day), Randy Foye
(hamstring/day-to-day)
Notes: Kaman is "hoping" to play on
Friday night. Fantasy owners will have to use the weekend in order to
determine his viability for Week 7, but barring setbacks most owners
will want to get him back in their active lineups. ... Davis returned
from a 10-game absence to play 24 minutes off the bench on Wednesday
night. He will be eased back into the rotation, but he played in crunch
time Wednesday night and seems to be ready for more minutes. ... More
minutes for Davis means an end for Bledsoe's Fantasy prominence.
L.A. Lakers
Schedule: WAS, @LAC, @CHI, @NJ
Good
Plays: Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom
Bad
Plays: Ron Artest, Matt Barnes, Derek Fisher, Steve Blake
Toss Ups: Shannon Brown
Injury
Report: Pau Gasol
(hamstring/day-to-day), Andrew Bynum
(knee/late December)
Notes: Gasol tweakeed a hamstring on
Wednesday night. While he said following Wednesday's game that he
expects to play on Friday, the team considers him a game-time decision.
Plan on having him active in Week 7, but monitor his situation closely
over the weekend for setbacks. ... Brown remains a very spotty scorer,
but positive matchups against three teams that allow 100-plus points per
game could have him in double figures two or three times in Week 7.
Memphis Grizzlies
Schedule: @UTA, @PHO, @LAC
Good
Plays: Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol, Mike Conley
Bad Plays: Darrell Arthur, Xavier Henry, Hasheem Thabeet, Greivis Vasquez
Toss
Ups: O.J. Mayo
Injury Report: Darrell Arthur (groin/day-to-day)
Notes: Any signs that
Mayo's 23-point performance against the Warriors may have pointed toward
a resurgence seem to have been a mirage. He followed that game with
three pedestrian efforts, averaging 11.3 points, 1.3 assists and 2.3
rebounds. His move to the bench has not sparked a fire under him and the
emergence of Conley as a scorer this season has cut into Mayo's
potential for production. Avoid him until he can get his act together.
Miami Heat
Schedule: @MIL, @UTA, @GS, @SAC
Good
Plays: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh
Bad
Plays: Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Erick Dampier, Joel Anthony, Carlos Arroyo, Mario Chalmers, Eddie House
Toss Ups: James Jones
Injury
Report: Mike Miller (thumb/late
December), Udonis Haslem (foot/April)
Notes:
The Heat are getting virtually nothing from the combination of
Ilgauskas, Dampier and Anthony at center. ... Chalmers has climbed the
depth chart ahead of House, but is still playing just 20-25 minutes per
game. ... Jones entered play on Thursday night 8 of 21 (38.1 percent)
from beyond the arc over his last five games and 39 of 94 (41.5 percent)
overall. He had not cracked double digits in nine straight games and
should only be used in larger category leagues at this stage.
Milwaukee Bucks
Schedule: MIA, IND, HOU
Good
Plays: Brandon Jennings
Bad
Plays: Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
Toss
Ups: Andrew Bogut, Drew Gooden, Ersan Ilyasova, Larry Sanders, John Salmons
Injury
Report: Andrew Bogut
(back/day-to-day), Carlos Delfino
(concussion/mid-December),Michael Redd
(knee/February)
Notes: Bogut said on Thursday that he was
unsure whether or not he would be able to play on Saturday. Have healthy
alternatives available. ... With Bogut out and Gooden banged up, Sanders
had a wild stat line on Wednesday night with 14 points, 10 boards and
eight blocks in 34 minutes. He will not be in line for 34 minutes on a
regular basis, but he is worth taking a flier on in deeper leagues given
how banged up the Bucks are up front. ... Gooden played just 10 minutes
on Wednesday after missing two games. He is dealing with plantar
fasciitis and should not be activated until he can prove he can produce
while playing with what could be a lingering issue all season. ... While
Gooden remains banged up, Ilyasova is looking at more minutes and
touches. He is averaging 12 points and eight boards over his last five
games and is worth activating in larger formats while you can. Matchups
against the Heat (who can't seem to stop anybody up front) and the
Rockets bode well for a productive week for Ilyasova. ... A 1 of 11
shooting night on Nov. 29 aside, Salmons has been a steady option for
low-end double-digit scoring. His 21-point effort at Denver on
Wednesday, however, harkened back to his numbers from a season ago. He
is not all the way back yet, but those numbers are in there somewhere
for Salmons.

Minnesota Timberwolves
Schedule: @NY, OKC, DET, @CHI
Good
Plays: Kevin Love, Michael Beasley
Bad Plays: Jonny Flynn,
Anthony Tolliver, Sebastian Telfair
Toss Ups: Darko Milicic,
Luke Ridnour
Injury Report: Jonny Flynn (hip/out until at least Dec. 6), Martell Webster (back/out indefinitely)
Notes: Flynn will
play on Friday night in a D-League game. If all goes well, he would
return to the Timberwolves as soon as Monday's game in New York. He has
not played in a single competetive game this season and is likely going
to need at least a week or two to get back to full strength. Avoid
activating him, but he is well worth an add in your league if he is
available. ... Flynn's potential return makes Ridnour a player to avoid
as his minutes will slowly begin to decline. ... Expect the new and
improved Darko to get up for Monday's game against one of his former
teams in the Knicks. He should benefit from an up-tempo game against the
Knicks and a matchup against a Thunder team with very little opposition
up front.
New Jersey Nets
Schedule: @ATL, @DAL, LAL
Good
Plays: Brook Lopez
Bad Plays: Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, Terrence Williams
Toss Ups: Devin Harris,
Jordan Farmar, Kris Humphries, Anthony Morrow, Travis Outlaw
Injury Report: Devin Harris (knee/out until at least Dec. 7)
Notes: Harris
will be re-evaluated prior to Tuesday's game against the Hawks, but
final word on his status may not be known until after the week. Be
prepared to go without him, but Farmar would only be a suitable
replacement option in weekly formats if Harris is ruled out for the
entire week. ... Humphries continues to have his run of things at power
forward, averaging 30 minutes over his last five games. His scoring is
spotty at best, but he offers premium rebounding (11.2 over his last
five games). ... Morrow and Outlaw have been alternating good and bad
games for much of the entire season. Neither should be trusted as
anything more than an injury replacement in deeper leagues.
New Orleans Hornets
Schedule: DET, OKC, @PHI
Good
Plays: Chris Paul, David West, Emeka Okafor
Bad
Plays: Jarrett Jack, Willie Green, Jason Smith, Marcus Thornton
Toss Ups: Trevor Ariza,
Marco Belinelli
Injury Report: No
significant injuries.
Notes: Ariza has scored exactly 10
points in three straight games going into the weekend, not exactly the
stuff of Fantasy superstars. He is offering around five boards, two
dimes and a steal per game, but is a low-end start at best. His primary
asset at this stage seems to be his 3-point shooting. ... Belinelli is
very quietly beginning to fade in New Orleans, seeing under 10 shots in
four of his last five games. He has been reduced to being a spot 3-point
shooter.
New York Knicks
Schedule: MIN, TOR, @WAS, DEN
Good
Plays: Amar'e Stoudemire, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler
Bad
Plays: Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf, Kelenna Azubuike
Toss
Ups: Danilo Gallinari, Landry Fields, Toney Douglas
Injury
Report: Toney Douglas
(hip/day-to-day), Kelenna Azubuike
(knee/early December)
Notes: The Knicks have the most
favorable schedule in Week 7, playing against four teams that allow over
100 points per game. Their opponents allow an average of 105.3 points
per game. ... Expect Chandler and Gallinari to post excellent numbers.
While Chandler is on a roll, Gallinari has struggled some over the last
week with his shot. He is averaging 37.6 minutes per game over his last
five contests and should do plenty with that type of playing time in
Week 7. ... Fields is averaging 9.0 rebounds over his last five games.
His offense has been spotty, but expect him to get a chance to average
close 15 points per game in Week 7.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Schedule: @CHI, @MIN, @NO, CLE
Good
Plays: Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Jeff Green
Bad
Plays: James Harden, Nenad Krstic, Thabo Sefolosha, Nick Collison
Toss Ups: Serge Ibaka
Injury
Report: Kevin Durant
(knee/day-to-day)
Notes: Durant was in a suit on Wednesday
night in New Jersey, but there is no real indication that he is dealing
with a long-term injury. We would be shocked if he does not play a full
week in the upcoming scoring period. ... When Durant has been out of the
lineup this season, Harden has thrived. With Durant expected back,
however, he should be reserved. ... Ibaka has faded with the return of
Green. He does stand to get starts for however long Durant remains
sidelined, but is a player to avoid outside of daily formats for now.
Orlando Magic
Schedule: ATL, @POR, @UTA, @LAC
Good
Plays: Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson
Bad Plays: Brandon Bass,
J.J. Redick, Quentin Richardson, Mickael Pietrus, Chris Duhon, Marcin Gortat
Toss
Ups: Rashard Lewis, Vince Carter
Injury Report: Rashard Lewis (knee/day-to-day), J.J. Redick
(illness/day-to-day)
Notes: Lewis left Wednesday's easy win
over the Bulls, but the move was precautionary. Lewis should return over
the weekend, but remains just a 3-point contributor. He is averaging
just 14.0 points, 1.6 assists and 2.2 rebounds over his last five games.
... Carter looked plenty healthy in his second game back from a knee
injury on Wednesday night, scoring 22 points. Get him back into active
lineups.
Philadelphia 76ers
Schedule: CLE, BOS, NO
Good
Plays: Andre Iguodala, Jrue Holiday, Elton Brand
Bad
Plays: Evan Turner, Lou Williams, Spencer Hawes, Andres Nocioni, Marreese Speights
Toss
Ups: Thaddeus Young
Injury
Report: No significant injuries.
Notes: Since the return
of Iguodala from his injury, Turner has become a non-factor. He is
averaging just 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds over his last five games. ...
Williams is averaging 7.6 points and 3.8 assists over his last five. ...
Young is averaging 11.6 points and 5.2 rebounds over his last five,
useful in deeper formats. However, the Cavs face opponents that allow an
average of just 94.7 points per game in Week 7.
Phoenix Suns
Schedule: @POR, MEM, POR
Good
Plays: Steve Nash, Jason Richardson
Bad Plays: Goran Dragic, Josh Childress, Jared Dudley
Touss Ups: Channing Frye,
Hakim Warrick, Grant Hill, Hedo Turkoglu
Injury
Report: Grant Hill (foot/day-to-day), Robin Lopez (knee/mid-December)
Notes: The Suns
expect Lopez to miss another couple of weeks, allowing Frye to maintain
solid playing time. Frye is averaging 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds over
his last five games while seeing around 37 minutes per game. ... Hill is
dealing with what is believed to be just a "minor" foot sprain. He is
considered day-to-day and should be available for Week 7. The veteran is
averaging an 18-4-5 stat line over his last five games. ... Warrick now
finds himself as a starter for the Suns at power forward. Coach Alvin
Gentry insists that he will give Warrick a fair shot at maintaining the
starting job. He is averaging 15.4 points and 6.0 rebounds over his last
five games. ... Turkoglu, now coming off the bench, is going to be used
in his more comfortable small forward role. With Grant Hill playing so well, Turkoglu will have a very low ceiling for
production in the short term.
Portland Trail Blazers
Schedule: PHO, ORL, @PHO, @SA
Good
Plays: LaMarcus Aldridge, Brandon Roy, Andre Miller, Marcus Camby
Bad Plays: Rudy Fernandez
Toss Ups: Wesley Matthews, Nicolas Batum
Injury
Report: Marcus Camby (knee/day-to-day), Joel Przybilla (knee,
illness/day-to-day), Greg Oden
(knee/out for the season)
Notes: The Trail Blazers have made a
switch at small forward, getting Matthews into the lineup over Batum.
This has allowed Matthews, who stood to lose a lot of Fantasy appeal
with Roy back from his knee injury, to retain a lot of the Fantasy
appeal he gained while Roy was away. ... Batum has been held to five or
fewer points in four straight games.
Sacramento Kings
Schedule: @LAC, WAS, MIA
Good
Plays: None
Bad Plays: Beno Udrih,
Luther Head
Toss Ups: Tyreke Evans, Carl Landry, DeMarcus Cousins, Samuel Dalembert, Jason Thompson
Injury Report: Samuel Dalembert (knee/out until at least Dec. 6)
Notes:
Evans has been plagued by a bad jump shot recently, leading to
just a 12.2 scoring average over his last five games. He thinks he has
addressed the mechanical flaw. If you trust him, keep him active in all
leagues. ... Thompson is now starting at power forward for the Kings,
but the rotation is anything but set in stone. Thompson has excellent
upside, but is a player who should be reserved until he can prove
consistent. ... Landry, who was moved to the bench, has had success in a
reserve role in the past. However, he has scored a combined 11 points in
his last two games. ... Cousins dropped 20 points on the Pacers on
Wednesday night and stands to put up excellent numbers for however long
Dalembert remains sidelined. Dalembert has been ruled out through the
weekend, but his status for Monday's game may not be decided until
tipoff. We would only recommend activating Cousins if Dalembert is ruled
out through Week 7, which seems unlikely.

San Antonio Spurs
Schedule: GS, ATL, POR
Good
Plays: Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili
Bad Plays: Antonio McDyess, Tiago Splitter
Toss
Ups: Tony Parker, George Hill, Richard Jefferson, DeJuan Blair, Matt Bonner
Injury
Report: No significant injuries.
Notes: Parker was
mysteriously absent for much of the second half of Wednesday's loss at
the Clippers, playing under three minutes in the third quarter and not
at all in the fourth. He finished with two points in the game and has
scored less than 10 points in three of his last four games with 12
points in the only other contest. With personal issues stemming from a
widely publicized divorce looming over him, it is wise to let him prove
productive again before activating him. ... With Parker
struggling, Hill is averaging a very solid 15-3-2 stat line over his
last five games. ... Jefferson continues to be inconsistent. He is
getting around 10 shots per game and is just as likely to score 19
points on any given night as he is three points. Activate him only in
deeper leagues for now. ... Blair showed flashes of the upside he
displayed for much of last season on Nov. 30 in Golden State, scoring 16
points with 10 boards. He will get to play the Warriors again in Week 7,
but he has been far too inconsistent this season to trust. He will also
face two very tough defensive centers the remainder of the week in Al Horford and Marcus Camby.
Toronto Raptors
Schedule: @IND, @NY, DEN, @DET
Good
Plays: Andrea Bargnani
Bad
Plays: Linas Kleiza, Leandro Barbosa, Jerryd Bayless, Sonny Weems, Ed Davis, Joey Dorsey
Toss Ups: Jose Calderon,
Amir Johnson, DeMar DeRozan
Injury Report: Peja Stojakovic (knee/day-to-day), Reggie Evans (foot/February)
Notes: Calderon is seeing
around 31 minutes per game as a starter and is translating that into
high-end assist production. He is averging 7.8 assists per game over his
last five contests, but just 10.6 points per game during the same span.
... With Evans expected to miss a couple of months, Johnson is getting a
chance to start. He is still splitting playing time with Dorsey for now,
however. ... DeRozan has dealt with some hamstring issues lately, but
his last two games seem to indicate it is no longer an issue. He scored
20 points with six rebounds on Wednesday night against the Wizards and
looks to be a decent low-end start again. He should be able to take
advantage of favorable matchups against the Knicks and Nuggets.
Utah Jazz
Schedule: MEM, MIA, ORL, @DAL
Good
Plays: Deron Williams, Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap
Bad
Plays: C.J. Miles, Raja Bell, Mehmet Okur
Toss
Ups: Andrei Kirilenko
Injury
Report: Mehmet Okur
(Achilles'/mid-December)
Notes: Okur appears close to a
return, but the Jazz do not seem to be in a rush to activate him. There
remains no concrete timetable set for his return. ... Kirilenko is
playing around 35 minutes per game, offering Fantasy owners around 13-15
points to go with six boards and a block or two per game. He remains a
useful play in most category leagues and larger Head-to-Head formats.
Washington Wizards
Schedule: @LAL, @SAC, NY
Good
Plays: John Wall, Gilbert Arenas, Andrawy Blatche
Bad
Plays: Al Thornton, Nick Young, Yi Jianlian
Toss
Ups: JaVale McGee, Kirk Hinrich
Injury Report: Yi Jianlian (knee/day-to-day), Josh Howard
(knee/mid-December)
Notes: McGee was able to shake off some
back pain earlier in the week to come up with 10-and-10 against the Heat
on Monday night and then 21-and-7 on Wednesday in Toronto. He blamed the
back problem on the fall he took on Nov. 23 when he was hit by Elton Brand, but that does not seem to be an issue any longer. ...
Hinrich is getting 30-plus minutes per game behind Wall and Arenas, but
he has scored in double figures just one in his last five games. Big
minutes aside, he is going to be far too inconsistent while Wall and
Arenas are healthy to rely upon. ... Thornton returned from his ankle
injury this week to play 16 minutes on Wednesday in Toronto. He will be
eased back into the rotation and is not worth activating in any format
at this time.
