  • Martin closed Friday's 123-100 loss to the Magic with eight points (3-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist over 24 minutes. Coming off a career-high 30 points only two days prior, Martin came back to earth, landing just eight points. Although the 30-point effort was something to behold, it appears as though it could very well be his best game of the season. Leading up to his career night, Martin had played in only five games all season, scoring a total of 12 points. He could maintain a meaningful role as long as the Nets are dealing with injuries, although his production is unlikely to warrant significant attention.

  • Martin is starting Friday against the Magic, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports. Martin will move to the starting lineup for the first time in his career after posting a career-high 30 points in the win over the Suns on Wednesday. Martin should handle a sizable role on offense with Dennis Schroder (personal) and Cam Thomas (hamstring) out.

  • Martin ended Wednesday's 127-117 win over the Suns with 30 points (10-13 FG, 8-10 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes. To state that his performance came out of nowhere would be entirely accurate, as Martin had scored a combined 33 points in 21 previous career games at the NBA level before his scoring outburst. Martin will need to carve a steady role off the bench before being considered a potential waiver target in deep formats, as one game isn't enough to make him a player worth targeting in all leagues. However, Cam Thomas' (hamstring) multi-week absence should afford Martin a chance to prove Wednesday's game wasn't an outlier.

  • The Nets converted Martin to a two-way contract Saturday, Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com reports. Martin had initially been on a training camp deal but has officially been converted to a two-way contract. The 25-year-old forward is now set to split time between the Nets and their G League affiliate in 2024-25.

  • The Nets signed Martin to a training camp deal Friday, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports. Martin will suit up for Brooklyn in training camp, but he will likely end up on the club's G League team, the Long Island Nets, if he does not secure the team's final two-way spot. The 25-year-old spent the 2023-24 campaign with the G League's Iowa Wolves, during which he averaged 17.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.9 steals over 35.1 minutes per game over 33 appearances.
