Rockets' Tarik Black: Double-doubles in spot start
Tarik Black went for 12 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and two blocks across 38 minutes in a 96-83 loss to the Kings on Wednesday.Black drew the start at center with Clint Capela sitting for rest in the regular-season finale. The fourth-year big man responded with his second double-double of the season and best scoring total since Jan. 10. Black has proven capable of providing some scoring and rebounding punch off the bench during his career, but Nene Hilario has been the preferred first option off the bench behind Capela for head coach Mike D'Antoni for the majority of the season whenever he's been healthy. Black should have a role in the postseason rotation, but he's unlikely to see more than the 10.5 minutes per game he averaged this season unless there's an injury in front of him.

Rockets' Tarik Black: Starting at center in finale
Tarik Black will start at center for Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Kings, Houston Rockets play-by-play announcer Craig Ackerman reports. The Rockets are holding out more than half their roster for rest ahead of the playoffs, which includes both Clint Capela (hand) and Nene Hilario (rest). As a result, Black gets the call with the top unit at center and should get all the minutes he can handle with only a few bodies available. Black has logged 20 minutes or more just three times this season, but he should be able to blow that out of the water in Wednesday's finale.

Rockets' Tarik Black: Questionable with back injury
Tarik Black is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Thunder due to lower back stiffness. It's unclear exactly when Black suffered the injury, as he managed to play 15 minutes off the bench in Thursday's win over the Trail Blazers. The Houston Rockets, however, have elected to be fairly cautious as of late given that they have already locked up the No. 1 overall seed in the West. Expect an official update on Black following the team's shootaround Saturday morning.
