Pistons' Paul Reed: Back with Detroit
The Detroit Pistons re-signed Paul Reed to a one-year contract Monday, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.Detroit waived Reed on Saturday, after he had appeared in 12 of the club's first 26 games while averaging 4.8 points and 1.9 rebounds over 10.3 minutes per game. He was in the midst of the second season of a three-year, $25.56 million deal, but the Pistons were unwilling to keep him on board with his current contract since he would have been fully guaranteed $7.7 million in salary for 2025-26 had he remained on the roster through January. After Reed cleared waivers, the Pistons elected to bring him back at a more palatable salary figure for a third-string center. He'll become an unrestricted free agent at season's end.

Pistons' Paul Reed: Increased role Wednesday
Paul Reed amassed 13 points (6-6 FG, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one block and two steals in 12 minutes during Wednesday's 108-107 loss to the Hornets.Reed logged a season-high 12 minutes, sliding up in the rotation after Jalen Duren was forced from the game due to an ankle injury. While Duren attempted to play through the issue, he was eventually removed and could certainly be at risk of missing time. Should we get word that Duren will be sidelined for any length of time, Reed could be someone to consider for streaming purposes. Isaiah Stewart would likely move into the starting lineup but is somewhat undersized, so Reed could log meaningful minutes.

Pistons' Paul Reed: Sees playing time in blowout loss
Paul Reed logged five points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over seven minutes during Friday's 128-98 loss to the Knicks.Reed has played in only two of Detroit's six outings so far in 2024-25.
