  • Luke Kornet C | SA

Celtics' Luke Kornet: Block party in spot start

Kornet produced six points (3-4 FG), four rebounds, three assists and six blocks in 27 minutes during Monday's 108-89 victory over the Heat.

Making his third start of the season, Kornet swatted a season-high six shots while filling in at center for the resting Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford on the second night of a back-to-back set. Kornet did a fine job defending Bam Adebayo, who went just 6-for-18 from the field for the Heat. Kornet doesn't necessarily have a defined role in Boston's rotation on a nightly basis, but he's been effective in 10 appearances as a starter since 2023-24, averaging 10.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.5 blocks in 28.2 minutes per game while shooting 74.6 percent from the floor during this period dating back to last season. The 29-year-old veteran big man is a worthy plug-and-play option for fantasy managers on occasions that he joins the first unit, which is something to watch out for when the Celtics play back-to-back games once again Friday against the Bucks and Saturday against the Grizzlies.

  • Clint Capela C | HOU

Hawks' Clint Capela: Grabs 17 rebounds in win

Capela registered nine points (4-6 FG, 1-1 FT), 17 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 29 minutes during Monday's 124-112 victory over New Orleans.

Capela continues to outplay Onyeka Okongwu, serving as the primary center option in Atlanta. Although his offensive game is not what it used to be, he still provides elite defensive numbers while also crashing the boards with regularity. He has recorded at least 13 rebounds in three straight games, adding a combined 11 steals and blocks. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that he has played in every game thus far, allowing him to continue to build chemistry with some of his newer teammates.

  • Pelicans' Daniel Theis: Poor season continues

Theis totaled three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds and one steal across 13 minutes during Monday's 124-112 loss to the Hawks.

Theis continues to be a non-factor, as he's scored in single digits in every game this season. After starting the first five games, his role has shifted to that of a backup. In 17 games he is averaging just 3.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game. It is clear that Theis simply isn't the player he once was.

  • Yves Missi C | NO

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Lands career-high 21 points

Missi registered 23 points (11-14 FG, 1-4 FT), 12 rebounds, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Monday's 124-112 loss to the Hawks.

Missi recorded his third double-double in the past five games, including a career-high 21 points. Despite a brief trip to the locker room, Missi was able to return to action, also playing a career-high 35 minutes. The Pelicans are facing an uphill battle to make the playoffs, having won just four of their first 22 games. That could ensure Missi sticks in a sizeable role, even when they do get their full roster back on the court.

  • Yves Missi C | NO

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Checks back in

Missi (leg) returned for the start of the second quarter Monday against Atlanta, per the team's television broadcast.

Missi limped off the floor seven minutes into the first quarter, but the medical staff was quick to clear him. He's expected to play a large role the rest of the way and made an impact upon his return by adding six points on four attempts from the field.

  • Yves Missi C | NO

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Heads to locker room

Missi (leg) went back to the locker room in the first quarter of Monday's game against the Hawks, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.

Missi came up limping midway through the first quarter, and he quickly went back to the locker room. Daniel Theis would be slated to see increased minutes at center if Missi is unable to return to Monday's contest.

  • Luke Kornet C | SA

    Celtics' Luke Kornet: Starting Monday

Kornet is in the Celtics' starting five for Monday's game against the Heat, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports.

Kornet will make his third start of the 2024-25 campaign Monday due to the absences of Kristaps Porzingis (rest) and Al Horford (rest/toe), which means Neemias Queta should see increased minutes off the bench. In his last start, Kornet logged 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 30 minutes against the Hornets on Nov. 2.

  • Lakers' Anthony Davis: Good to go Monday

Davis (foot) is available for Monday's game against the Timberwolves, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

As expected, Davis has been upgraded from probable to available and will continue to play through a lingering foot injury. He's made 12 straight appearances, averaging 26.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.2 blocks and 1.2 steals in 35.0 minutes per game during that stretch.

  • Jazz's Kyle Filipowski: Remaining sidelined Tuesday

Filipowski (lower leg) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Thunder, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Filipowski will be sidelined for a sixth straight game due to a left leg injury, and his next chance to play will be against Portland on Friday. Drew Eubanks will continue to see increased playing time off the Jazz's bench due to Filipowski's injury.

  • Zach Edey C | MEM

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Won't return Tuesday vs. Mavs

Edey (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Mavericks.

Edey is slated to miss his eighth straight game due to a left ankle injury, and his next chance to play will be Thursday against the Kings. Brandon Clarke will remain as the Grizzlies' starting center for Tuesday's NBA Cup contest.
