  • Asa Newell PF | ATL

Hawks' Asa Newell: Won't play Saturday

Newell (rest) has been ruled out for Saturday's Summer League game against the Wizards, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Newell will end up playing in four Summer League games in Las Vegas, averaging 11.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks over 25.9 minutes per game while going 6-for-12 from three-point range. He split his time between the Hawks and the G League during the 2025-26 season but averaged just 11.4 minutes per game across 44 regular-season contests (two starts). Newell figures to compete with Aaron Wiggins and Mouhamed Gueye (foot) for bench minutes in 2026-27.

  • Jacob Toppin SF | ATL

Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Won't play Saturday

Toppin (quad/not with team) is out for Saturday's Las Vegas Summer League matchup with the Wizards, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Toppin will wind up missing Atlanta's final three Summer League games in Las Vegas. It's unclear if he'll earn a training camp invite.

  • Zuby Ejiofor PF | ATL

    Hawks' Zuby Ejiofor: Out Saturday

Ejiofor (rest) won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Wizards, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Ejiofor will be held out of Atlanta's Summer League finale for rest purposes, marking his third straight absence. The rookie big man averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in 25.5 minutes per game across two Las Vegas Summer League outings.

  • Hawks' Kingston Flemings: Won't play in SL finale

Flemings (rest) won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Wizards, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.

Flemings will sit out the Hawks' Summer League finale, marking his third consecutive contest on the inactive list. In two Las Vegas Summer League outings, he averaged 7.0 points, 6.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 combined steals-plus-blocks in 24.3 minutes per contest.

  • Bucks' Brayden Burries: Paces Milwaukee in SL win

Burries supplied 27 points (9-18 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block across 28 minutes in Saturday's 96-94 Summer League win over the 76ers.

Burries struggled from beyond in the arc in the Bucks' Summer League finale, though he still led all players in scoring while hitting the game-winning layup in the final seconds of the game. The rookie No. 10 overall pick also logged a game-high five assists, dishing out at least five dimes for a second straight game. He reached the 20-point threshold in his final three Las Vegas Summer League outings.

Reneau recorded 19 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one steal and one block across 18 minutes in Saturday's 103-97 Summer League win over the Celtics.

Reneau torched the nets in Orlando's Summer League finale, scoring all of his game-high 19 points in the second half. The 23-year-old big man signed an Exhibit 10 pact with the Magic in June and could end up with the team's G League affiliate, the Osceola Magic, to begin the 2026-27 campaign.

Grill provided 18 points (6-12 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 22 minutes during Saturday's 103-97 Las Vegas Summer League loss to the Magic.

Despite coming off the bench, Grill led the Celtics in both scoring and three-pointers made. He was one of the few Boston players to avoid a negative plus/minus, and his strong Summer League showing may have earned him a training camp invite.

  • John Tonje SG | POR

Celtics' John Tonje: Scores 14 points with full line

Tonje recorded 14 points (6-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 19 minutes during Saturday's 103-97 Las Vegas Summer League loss to the Magic.

Tonje scored efficiently and led the Celtics' starters in points, but ultimately, Boston wasn't able to get the job done. Tonje is a free agent who is looking to secure another opportunity after holding a two-way contract with Boston for the latter portion of last season.
