Gabbert completed 16 of 23 passes for 196 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He added 27 rushing yards on 12 carries in the 24-17 loss.
Gabbert led San Francisco out to a 14-0 lead on the first two drives, but he was ineffective after that and managed fewer than 60 passing yards the rest of the game. He appeared competent as a runner at times, but his overall rushing numbers left a lot to be desired. Now 1-3 and averaging just 182 yards through the air after four starts, it remains to be seen how long Gabbert will remain the starter ahead of Colin Kaepernick. Things will not get any easier for Gabbert, as he will face the formidable Cardinals defense at home in Week 5.
