Allen (coach's decision) is inactive for Saturday's NFC divisional-round game against the Packers, but he will serve as the 49ers' emergency quarterback, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

As the emergency quarterback, Allen will only see the field if both Brock Purdy and backup Sam Darnold are forced out of Saturday's game due to injuries.
