Ward was considered day-to-day after missing the 49ers' Week 6 win over the Seahawks with a knee injury. Monday's return to practice is a sign that Ward is trending in the right direction, and he'll likely serve as San Francisco's top cornerback in Week 7 against the Chiefs if he can play through the injury.
