The 49ers signed Dowell to a reserve/future contract Wednesday.
Dowell has bounced around the NFL this season, residing on the Titans' and Ravens' practice squads for separate stints. The wide receiver was not elevated for any regular-season games in 2025 and will look to seize the opportunity to play for the 49ers in 2026.
