Pineiro (illness) was a non-participant at the 49ers' practice Thursday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Pineiro has missed consecutive practices to open the week as he battles an illness, and his status for Sunday's matchup against Miami remains in question. The 31-year-old will have one more chance to practice Friday. If he can't go this week, San Francisco will have to sign a free agent to handle the team's starting kicker role for Week 2.
