Tomlinson (knee) is ruled out to return to Sunday's game against the Rams, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Tomlinson was initially listed as questionable to return to the 49ers' season finale, but will ultimately remain sidelined. Joshua Garnett will continue to slot into the starting lineup.
