Jones will start Sunday's game against the Rams even if Brock Purdy (toe) is active, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Purdy, listed as questionable, will merely be a backup if active. Jones has done a nice job of guiding San Francisco's offense, but he doesn't offer much in the way of rushing stats and is looking at a tough matchup with the Rams defense this Sunday.
