49ers' Trey Lance: Steps in for injured Garoppolo
Lance completed 9-of-18 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns against Seattle on Sunday, running for 41 yards on seven carries.
Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a calf injury and left the game after completing 14-of-23 passes for 165 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the first half. Lance was somewhat hit-or-miss and had some help from the Seattle defense when they forgot to cover Deebo Samuel on a 76-yard touchdown in the third quarter, but the playmaking ability was quickly evident when Lance took over the offense. It's not clear whether coach Kyle Shanahan will reconsider his quarterback depth chart in light of this game, nor is it known how serious Garoppolo's calf injury might be. The answers to those two questions will hold a lot of sway over San Francisco's fantasy fortunes as they prepare for a road matchup with an intimidating Arizona defense in Week 5.
