Lance completed 15-of-29 passes for 192 yards and an interception against Arizona on Sunday, adding 89 yards on 16 carries.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) remains the starting quarterback when healthy, so whenever his health allows a return to the field, the 49ers appear intent to get him back into the starting lineup. San Francisco is 2-3 and any further losses in the short term could really harm their odds of making the playoffs. The 49ers have a bye in Week 6 before facing the Colts in Week 7, but it's not clear where Garoppolo will be in his recovery by then.
