Ball (quadriceps) was released from the Cardinals with an injury settlement, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
The 31-year-old signed with the team in early August, but was consistently sidelined throughout the preseason. He wasn't a lock to make the team anyway, though, and would have served as a depth option in the Cardinals' talented secondary.
