Mattison tried out for the Texans on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Mattison missed the 2025 season with a significant neck injury but is apparently healthy heading into the 2026 campaign. The veteran running back last played for the Raiders in 2024 but spent most of his career with the Vikings. If Mattison can return to the player he was pre-injury, he could earn a spot as the No. 3 back behind David Montgomery and Woody Marks on a Texans squad with Super Bowl aspirations.
