Shaw (lower leg), who was reportedly waived earlier Tuesday, will actually remain with the team, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The reason for the Bears' change of heart stems from a left knee injury suffered by Mark Sanchez in Tuesday's OTA. Sanchez is expected to return for training camp, but until then Shaw will be bumped up to the No. 3 option on the depth chart. Unless Sanchez's injury worsens or Shaw can win over the approval of the coaching staff in the next week, it appears as if the 25-year-old's release will be impending.
