Bears' Justin Fields: Won't start, likely out Thursday
Bears head coach Matt Nagy said Fields (ribs) isn't expected to be active for Thursday's game against the Lions, but the rookie will remains the team's starting quarterback when healthy, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Fields was knocked out of the Bears' Week 11 loss to the Ravens due to bruised ribs and doesn't look like he'll be ready to go for Thanksgiving Day, but the Bears are hopeful his absence will be contained to just one game. After completing 11 of 23 attempts for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns in relief of an injured Fields against Baltimore, Andy Dalton will get the starting nod Week 12, while No. 3 quarterback Nick Foles will presumably step in as his backup. Barring a dramatic turnaround in Fields' health following Wednesday's practice, expect the Bears to officially rule him out for the matchup with Detroit.
