Bears' Khalil Herbert: High ankle sprain, per report

Herbert is reportedly dealing with high ankle sprain after exiting Thursday's 40-20 win over the Commanders, Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports.

Anderson's report supports the notion put forth by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, who relays that Herbert could miss multiple weeks. Further information regarding Herbert's status for next Sunday's game against the Vikings should come forth when the Bears commence Week 6 practices, but with Roschon Johnson dealing with a concussion and Travis Homer having sustained a hamstring injury Week 5, the Bears backfield is depleted at the moment. D'Onta Foreman -- who has been a healthy inactive for four straight games -- could move into an expanded role Week 6. Meanwhile, Pelissero notes that the Bears plan to sign Darrynton Evans, who had been a member of the Dolphins practice squad.
