The Bears placed Ngakoue (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.
Ngakoue fractured his ankle at some point during Sunday's 28-16 win over the Lions and will miss the rest of the season. Over 13 appearances on the campaign, Ngakoue registered 22 tackles (13 solo) and four sacks. In Ngakoue's upcoming absence, DeMarcus Walker or Rasheem Green will likely settle into a starting role at defensive end opposite the team's top pass rusher, Montez Sweat.
