Taylor has a new offensive coordinator in Anthony Lynn after the Bills fired Greg Roman on Friday. One of Lynn's expectations could be to open up the passing game a bit more. Said coach Rex Ryan, "I want to be multiple. I want to be able to throw the football ... I do want to be able to run the football on a consistent basis. I want to be multiple in the running game, but I also want to be able to use the entire arsenal. The quick game, the intermediate game and the deep passing game."
It's hard to teach an old dog like Ryan new tricks, but the Bills under Roman were one of the heaviest run-based offenses in the league. Facing an 0-2 start with little to lose and with part of Roman's firing being based on an inability to get Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, and Charles Clay the ball more often, we could see the Bills start to open it up a bit more. Coupled with Taylor's excellent running ability, that could lead to good things. Still, this team is off to a stinky start and hasn't been able to move the ball other than some big plays, so don't be expecting the Dan Fouts Chargers all of a sudden. Also keep in mind Ryan is still running the show and Lynn is a former running back and running backs coach, so that run-centered approach probably isn't going away, either.
