The Bengals released Allen on Wednesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Allen made the initial 53-man roster as the backup to Joe Burrow, but he's been let go to make room for a trio of waiver claims. Dehner suggests that Allen could return to the team after the next round of IR moves are made.
