Hill was waived by San Francisco on Saturday, Josh Dubow of the Associated Press reports.
Hill's departure from the active roster bodes well for Elijah Mitchell's return from a knee injury Sunday. The Wyoming product had seen special-teams action in each of the 49ers' last three games and will likely head back to their practice squad.
