Broncos linebacker Von Miller said Wednesday that Siemian has reminded him of former quarterback Peyton Manning in terms of his energy in the locker room and on the field, Michael David Smith of NBC Sports reports.
Miller said that even after Siemian turned in a respectable debut season as a starter in 2016, the quarterback looks "10 times better" heading into 2017. Siemian's preseason performance didn't necessarily back up Miller's assessment, as his 6.1 yards per attempt in his two appearances were a full six points below his mark from the 2016 campaign. It's tough to make many sweeping conclusions based off two games though, so if Siemian can prove that he can pair his accuracy with more big plays during the regular season, he could gain some security in his starting role.
